A Perfect First Year for Spitzer

Spitzer Images
The Spitzer flash feature is available on the JPL homepage.

Written by Gordon Squires, Spitzer Science Center
February 18, 2005

Since it launched in August 2003, Spitzer has made some remarkable discoveries, thanks to the work of brilliant scientists and engineers, as well as a robust spacecraft and a telescope whose optics work even better than planned. Now NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory has created a breathtaking Flash presentation highlighting Spitzer's first year.

The feature, Spitzer Space Telescope Eyes the Infrared Universe, is available on the JPL homepage, and features a gallery of images, interviews with Spitzer scientists, and information on the science performed by this revolutionary space-based observatory. An HTML-only version is available for users without Flash players.

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif., manages the Spitzer Space Telescope mission for NASA's Science Mission Directorate, Washington, D.C. Science operations are conducted at the Spitzer Science Center, Pasadena, Calif. JPL is a division of Caltech.
