Innovations

In maintaining the scientific vitality of a smaller Spitzer, scientists, engineers, and managers were challenged by NASA to revisit conventional thinking, and to think "outside the box." The resulting Spitzer design incorporates clever engineering decisions and technical innovations to maintain its scientific vitality - at a small fraction of the original estimated cost.
