Azusa Minamizaki

Azusa Minamizaki is an outreach coordinator at IPAC, Caltech. Minamizaki studied particle physics at Ochanomizu University in Japan. After receiving her Ph.D, Minamizaki joined the public relations office at the headquarter of the University of Tokyo as a project researcher in 2010, and worked on academic communication strategy. As working for the biggest university in Japan, she dealt with various fields of study, including astronomy, biology, medical science, social science and literature, from small scale sciences to big international projects.

In 2013, she came to the United States. In her first two years, she lived in Princeton, New Jersey and worked as a freelance science communicator for Japanese institutes. She has written technical and cultural articles, including an interview series about international collaboration between Princeton University and the University of Tokyo. She moved to Pasadena, California and has been in her current position since 2016.
